Cotton and polyester are two of the most used fibers in the fashion and textile industry, but both come with their own sustainability issues to overcome. That\u2019s why we\u2019re asking companies to set themselves targets to source more responsible solutions through our material challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

The Textile Exchange 2025 Recycled Polyester and Cotton Challenges will conclude at the end of 2025, with final reporting to occur in the 2026 reporting cycle. As such, we are no longer accepting new participants in these Challenges. However, we are currently working on updated challenges, which will be called \u2018Commitments\u2019 and will be developed in consultation with industry stakeholders in 2025. The first iteration of our new Commitments will launch in 2026. The Deforestation-Free Call to Action for Leather asks brands to commit to sourcing their bovine leather from deforestation\/conversion-free supply chains by 2030 or earlier. It sets meaningful expectations for brands and develops tools and guidance to support them on this journey.<\/p>\n

Accelerating the adoption of more responsible materials is just the first step<\/h2>\n

Our aim is for more sustainably sourced <\/span><\/span>fibers<\/span> and materials<\/span><\/span> to replace their conventional counterparts, rather than substitute other types of materials or justify increased industry growth. We\u2019re tracking progress, together<\/h2>\n

Each year, participating companies report <\/span><\/span>their<\/span> journeys<\/span><\/span> through our Materials Benchmark, allowing us to track progress towards <\/span><\/span>the<\/span> goals<\/span> of each commitment<\/span><\/span>. All the information is anonymous and aggregated across all the participants in the annual challenges dashboard. Your company information will never be singled out and published without your company\u2019s explicit request or consent.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
