The standard also gives companies and consumers a way to know more about the origin of materials in the products they buy.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section id=\"page-block-block_5637c00e6b21980c35804c879f59858c\" class=\"acf-block block-callout-card\">\n\t\n\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-12 col-md-10 col-xl-8 mx-auto\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"has-background block-callout-card_wrapper has-mist-background-color\">\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tTransition to the Materials Matter Standard and system\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn December 2025 we launched the Materials Matter Standard, a voluntary sustainability standard for the production and primary processing of raw materials used in the fashion, textile, and apparel industry. It\u202frepresents\u202fa significant evolution of Textile Exchange\u2019s standards system,\u202fbuilding on the strengths of what came before while offering a more streamlined and impact-driven pathway forward.  <br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nDown will not be included in the first version of the Materials Matter Standard. In our pilot tests of the criteria aligned with the full scope of Materials Matter, the findings indicated that producers would likely need more support and engagement to expand the scope of certification.
